Post 10: The Key to Unlocking Abundance—How Praise Opens the Door to Joy, Growth, and God’s Blessings
Discover how the power of praise transforms your life, lifting you above challenges and opening the windows of heaven to joy, growth, and divine increase.
Praise unlocks joy and abundance, even in hard moments. Learn how gratitude invites God’s blessings and transforms your life into one of divine increase.
The Weight of Waiting
Life can feel heavy when you’re doing all the right things, yet nothing seems to change.
You’ve prayed.
You’ve worked diligently.
You’ve tried to remain faithful.
Still, the blessings you long for feel just out of reach. You begin to wonder:
“Why is this happening? What more can I do? Does God even see me?”
That sense of lack can be deeply discouraging. It can cause you to question your worth, your effort, or even God’s concern for you.
But here is the truth: the path to abundance is closer than you think.
The answer is not found in striving harder or waiting longer.
It is found in praise.
The Power of Praise
Praise is a divine principle. It is not merely a feeling or a polite expression of gratitude—it is a key.
When you praise God, you align yourself with His light. You shift your focus from what is missing to what is already good. And as you do, you create space for more good to enter your life.
Raymond Holliwell taught this clearly:
“If one can realize the power of praise, he will stimulate and increase his good. Praise is complementary to faith.”
Praise is faith in motion. It is the application of trust. When you praise God, you are not denying difficulty—you are declaring confidence in Him despite it.
As your heart shifts from fear to trust, from doubt to confidence, from lack to abundance, your capacity to receive increases.
Even creation responds to praise. People flourish when uplifted. How much more will your own life flourish when infused with gratitude and acknowledgment of God’s hand?
A powerful truth becomes visible when reversing the wording of Doctrine and Covenants 59:21:
In nothing is God more honored—and more willing to pour out blessings—than when we confess His hand in all things and keep His commandments.
Praise lifts you upward. It attunes you to God. It opens the windows of heaven.
Try It for Yourself
What if today became a turning point?
Begin simply:
- Thank God for what you already have, no matter how small.
- Look for goodness in others and name it aloud.
- Replace complaints with acknowledgment of what is right.
Goodness is everywhere, but it requires focus to see. As you train your mind to recognize God’s hand, joy naturally follows.
Praise does not change God.
It changes you.
The Blessings of Praise
Lehi taught that “men are, that they might have joy.” President Russell M. Nelson has affirmed that joy is possible even amid anxiety, sorrow, and opposition.
Christ Himself endured the cross by focusing on “the joy that was set before him.”
Praise allows you to see through that same lens.
When you praise—especially in difficulty—you rise above circumstances. Your heart grows lighter. Your mind becomes clearer. Your spirit expands.
Praise invites increase. Not merely more possessions, but more light. More clarity. More Christlike power.
As you live this principle, you will discover that God is not reluctant to bless you. He delights in doing so. Praise opens the door.
